Another Week Passes By
Yep I'm still alive People. It's been a rather fly by week with not too many happenings. Work was work. I finally was officially hired on 4-20. Yippee, I'm now a state employee and I can start receiving benefits. Luckily, the medical insurance is really cheap and I'm gonna get some dental coverage as well. I haven't been to a dentist since I had my wisdom teeth yanked when I was in the Air Force. Never had a cavity either. I've already put in to get a nice long weekend off next month all with pay. Think for my birthday this year, I'm gonna do a cookout here at the house. Since we have a grill and the space to entertain, I will do a at home celebration. I get off work at 5pm on my birthday (5-24)and don't have to go back in until Tues morning (5-29). Finally going back to getting paid bi-weekly. Which of course really sucks at the beginning because the bills are due at the beginning of the month and I don't get my first check from the state until May 11. But, I have budgeted correctly and all the bills are paid, but I'm just broke until that first check rolls in. This weekend has been my "home improving" weekend. I have these 4 heavy duty aluminum chairs that have been needing my attention ever since I acquired them back in '04. The paint on them had been chipping and flaking away. Mainly because they were in the salt air in Daytona. But, I took my cordless drill and started working on one yesterday. I worked on that one chair for about 4 hours in between the batteries charging. I've decided I can get them done quicker with an electric drill. So, Rachael's brother is gonna drop his off. I think with my hard work and patience these hairs are going to look brand new. Missy said he would just spray paint them and get it over with. But, these chairs are valuable and I don't wanna half-ass the job. Not sure what color I am gonna paint them. Time will tell on that. Gotta get the damn things sanded down first. Rachael rearranged her bedroom today, I'm glad she did. Now she has room to walk around some in there. I'm working on my tan(yes a tan). I've lived in Florida for 9 yrs and rarely ever had a tan. I'm not baking myself this go round . Small doses of the sun while working on the chairs and then a drink or two here outside in the sun goes a long way with me. Not sure or not, but our pesky neighbors may be moving out. Hopefully that is the case. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone up at Virginia Tech. That's just sad those innocent people had to die like that. I guess it could happen anywhere. Soon, I see our society having metal detectors built into buildings. Our world is really going to Hell in a hand basket that is already on fire. It's a shame. Well, on that miserable note, I need to get to sleep. It's already 1230am and I have to get up early. Peace out as usual!
