Just Not Enough...

Happy Happy Weekend People. Here it is 836pm and I am going to lose an hour of sleep tonite. Damn early daylight savings time. I'm going out with Trace tonite and we are going to play some pool and have a few drinks. We are going to celebrate our full first week of being on the phones. The next class is coming into the nest on Monday so they shifted us out of the next to some offices next door outside of the nest, but not out on the call center floor. They have literally crammed 5 cubicles into an office that would normally hold 1 desk and a couple of chairs. It's been a crazy week at work this week. It was like Thursday was the day that everyone had sob stories. Some of them were for real, but most of them were pitiful excuses for a waste of taxpayer money. I have done well with not "chewing" anyone out on the phone. The people really try to piss you off but I just ignore them completely. Thanks to Lisa I got the back porch covered up. Its a huge 16' x 18' screened in porch. Rachael and I went to this awesome fabric store. I was gonna make some curtains for us. But either they didn't have enough of the one we wanted or it wasn't the right width. We probably spent like 45 mins in this store comparing fabrics. So we decided it wasn't ideal to spend the entire budget on fabric. We thought we would go look for some actual curtains. But you gotta understand, we have exactly 44ft wide of screen to cover. So that would have been a lot of curtains with an expensive price tag. So we went to Homo Depot and we looked at their roll-up blinds. I had drawn up the dimensions on a pad and was prepared. They were the only place we went that exactly had what we needed and just enough. I ended up buying 2 - 6ft, 2 - 3ft, 2 - 5ft, and 4 - 4ft roll up blinds. I think we got a helluva deal on them. All of that with couple of extra necessities was $120. I think it was well worth the money. We got home about one and I worked on hanging them for about 2 1/2 hours. It was getting to where I was hanging them in 8 mins. Not bad, but I would hope after hanging so many I would get the hang of it. Then we decided we need some kind of a valance to cover the top of the blinds. So we went the K-Mart here by the house and they didn't have enough of the same style to do the entire 44ft. So we then looked at 216in long curtains. They didn't have the color we liked. So then we got the bright idea of turning cloth place mats into a nice valance. Well of course they didn't have enough of the same type so we ended up buying all they had of the two we liked and Rachael found these napkins that matched the place mats. Then we decided instead of me ironing the stitch witchery to make them into valances we would just punch a holes through the place mats and hang them up with a string. That of course saved me hours of ironing, but I would have if I had to. We went looking for a single hole punch. Would you believe everyone and their brother must have been wanting a hole punch too. They were out of that as well. I ended up buying a heavy duty 3 hole punch. With all intentions of returning the $12 3 hole punch I had to make sure I kept the receipt. Go figure, with me using that logic, my damn receipt jammed up in the printer. LMAO. So we waited 20 mins for them to re-print it. We got home and I punched 3 holes at the top off all 19 place mats and 4 napkins, that's when we realized we didn't have enough place mats. We assumed the place mats were 2ft wide, we even mentioned finding a measuring tape to make sure. We even walked by the measuring tapes a couple of times and didn't think about it. So we are hoping that another K-Mart has the same ones we bought today. So it only cost us about $200 to put the blinds up and get the valances. Not bad for such a huge amount of space to cover. Well, guess I need to hop my happy ass in the shower and get my booty cleaned up. I'm all filthy and sweaty from actually doing some work today. LMAO. Til the next blog arrives, Peace Out!
